U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 21-3360
U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa - Cedar Rapids
[PUBLISHED] [Kobes, Author, with Loken and Benton, Circuit Judges]
Criminal case - Criminal law. The district court did not err in denying
defendant's motion for an acquittal as the evidence was sufficient to
support his convictions for robbery affecting interstate commerce,
conspiracy and using a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence
resulting death; the district court did not err in admitting expert
testimony concerning bone fragments found in a burn pit as the evidence
advanced the government's theory that defendant participated in the
robbery and murder of a drug dealer and that the dealer's body was burned
in a pit in defendant's backyard.
