U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 00-1168
and No: 00-1489
District of Minnesota
Civil case - civil rights. Employees who were reprimanded for
reading their Bibles during mandatory training program on gays
and lesbians in the workplace raised triable free speech, equal
protection and Title VII issues, and the district court erred in
granting summary judgment on these claims; however, their free
exercise and freedom of conscience claims should be dismissed
as the burden placed on them to attend the training program was
not substantial; Judge Lay dissenting in part.
