U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 00-3236
District of Minnesota
Civil case - arbitration. By agreeing to arbitrate disputes in the
City of St. Paul, Courtney impliedly consented to be sued in
Minnesota to compel arbitration of such disputes, and district
court had personal jurisdiction over Courtney; Courtney's Texas
insurance law defense went to the merits of the underlying
contract claim, not the issue of arbitrability, and the district court
did not err in ordering arbitration.
