006083P.pdf 01/24/2001 Harold James, et al. v. Planters Bank
U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 00-6083
Eastern District of Arkansas
Bankruptcy Appellate Panel. For purposes of Section 547(b), the
transfer date is the date the debtor earns the wages and not
the date the check is issued to or received by the garnishee;
court did not err in refusing to hold garnishee in contempt
for violating the automatic stay as contempt is not a remedy
for violating the statute and garnishee did not, in any event, violate it.
