U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 06-1004
District of Minnesota
[PUBLISHED][Melloy, Author, with Murphy and Colloton, Circuit Judges]
Civil Case - sanctions. District court's imposition of sanctions against
attorney for filing multiple duplicate state and federal actions is
affirmed, as district court did not abuse its discretion. Sanction of
50% of defendants' attorneys fees was not unwarranted and permitted under
the court's inherent power. Sanction of requiring attorney to take and
pass a law school course in federal jurisdiction and suspension pending
payment of the attorneys fee and law school course is remanded to the
district court for further proceedings.
