U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 06-1324
U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri - Kansas City
[PUBLISHED] [Gruender, Author, with Wollman and Riley, Circuit Judges]
Civil case - Products liability. In the absence of any evidence that
plaintiff's expert used reliable principles and methods or applied them
reliably to the facts of the case to form his opinion regarding the cause
of the fire, the district court did not err in finding that his causation
opinion did not satisfy Rule 702 and was inadmissible; without the expert
testimony on causation, plaintiff's case fails, and the district court
did not err in granting defendant's motion for summary judgment.
