U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 06-4206
U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas - Little Rock
[PUBLISHED] [Benton, Author, with Riley and Colloton, Circuit Judges]
Civil case - employment discrimination. While the District court erred
in permitting defendant to introduce evidence of plaintiff's prior
employment discrimination suit, the error was harmless in the context of
the whole trial and the other evidence impeaching plaintiff's credibility;
evidence of past mental health treatment was properly admitted as it was
relevant to plaintiff's claim for damages for mental anguish and
emotional suffering; district court did not err in rejecting plaintiff's
motion for new trial based on her claim that the verdict was against the
weight of the evidence.
