U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 09-2531
U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri - Kansas City
[PUBLISHED] [Smith, Author, with Riley, Chief Judge, and Shepherd,
   Circuit Judge]
Civil case - employment law. Reports concerning violation of company policy did not qualify for whistleblower protection under Missouri law because they did not involve violations of specific legal provisions which were clear mandates of a public policy; plaintiff's affidavit in opposition to defendant's motion for summary judgment was a self-serving affidavit which attempted to add an element - that the conduct involved violation of state law - which was not present in his complaint, and it did not establish that plaintiff was entitled to whistleblower protection.
