U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri - St. Louis
[PUBLISHED] [Riley, Author, with Loken and Colloton, Circuit Judges]
Civil case - torts. In case involving allegations that the Archdiocese
negligently hired, supervised and retained a priest who allegedly sexually
abused the plaintiffs, it seems highly likely that the Supreme Court of
Missouri would bar the negligence claims under the Missouri Constitution
if its First Amendment analysis were abrogated by the Supreme Court of
the United States, and the matter is remanded to the district court for
further proceedings.
