U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 12-1730
U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas - Little Rock
[PUBLISHED] [Riley, Author, with Loken and Benton, Circuit Judges]
Civil case - Employment discrimination. There was no evidence that
the legitimate, non-discriminatory grounds stated for plaintiff's
termination were pretexts for age discrimination, and the district court
did not err in granting the defendants' motion for summary judgment;
plaintiff failed to make a prima facie case of Family and Medical Leave
Act discrimination under either the direct evidence or McDonnell
Douglas indirect evidence standards as she failed to show a causal
connection between her actions and her termination; while plaintiff made
a prima facie case of Title VII retaliation, the defendants provided
legitimate, non-retaliatory reasons for her discharge, which plaintiff
failed to show were pretexts.
