U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 13-1190
U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota - Minneapolis
[PUBLISHED] [Kelly, Author, with Riley, Chief Judge, and Melloy, Circuit
Judge]
Prisoner case - habeas. State court's decision to limit Yang's
cross-examination of cooperating witnesses regarding possible sentence
reductions they might receive based on their testimony against him was not
contrary to, nor an unreasonable application of, clearly established
Supreme Court precedent; the witnesses had not yet been sentenced and any
testimony regarding a possible percentage reduction would have been
speculative; even if it was error to limit the questioning, Yang has
failed to show prejudice.
