U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 13-3070
U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri - St. Louis
[PUBLISHED] [Riley, Author, with Smith and Kelly, Circuit Judges]
Civil case - Civil Rights. Fired fire chiefs were employees-at-will under
Missouri law and the defendant's internal rules did not imply an
enforceable employment contract which would change their status; as a
result, the chiefs did not have a property interest in their continued
employment under the Fourteenth Amendment; chiefs failed to identify any
admissible evidence containing a sufficiently stigmatizing statements to
create a liberty interest.
