U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 14-1301
U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota - Minneapolis
[PUBLISHED] [Kelly, Author, with Bright and Loken, Circuit Judges]
Prisoner case - Prisoner civil rights. In suit by prisoner alleging
requirement that he participate in a chemical-dependency programs
available at MCF-Faribualt conflicted with his Native American religious
faith, he failed to specify his Native American faith (of which there are
many), his beliefs consistent with that faith, or how the prison program
conflicts with his Native American beliefs, whatever they may be; without
that information prison officials were without notice of the basis for
plaintiff's allegations that he was denied the right to freely exercise
his religion and without enough information to respond adequately to the
allegations in his complaint; the complaint failed, therefore, the state a
claim upon which relief could be granted, and the district court properly
granted judgment for defendants.
