U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 15-2994
U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas - Little Rock
[PUBLISHED] [Gruender, Author, with Smith, Circuit Judge, and Ketchmark,
District Judge]
Criminal case - Criminal law. Given the circumstances, the law enforcement
officers reasonably could conclude that defendant's consent extended to a
continued search of his vehicle at police headquarters; in any event,
defendant gave a valid consent to the continued search; under the totality
of the circumstances, officers had a reasonable belief that contraband
would be found inside a hidden compartment in the vehicle's frame and the
officers had probable cause to search the compartment by drilling into it.
