U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 19-3022
U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri - Joplin
[PUBLISHED] [Melloy, Author, with Colloton and Kelly, Circuit Judges]
Criminal case - Criminal law. The evidence was sufficient to support
defendant's conviction for possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug
trafficking crime; on the facts presented, the jury permissibly found the
required nexus between the firearm and the drugs without the guidance of
expert testimony and rejected the claim defendant possessed the weapon to
protect his chickens.
