U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 21-2705
U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa - Eastern
[PUBLISHED] [Kelly, Author, with Smith, Chief Judge, and Grasz, Circuit
Judge]
Criminal case - Criminal law. Police had probable cause to believe that
defendant's phone contained evidence of a crime, and exigent circumstances
warranted its seizure pending issuance of a warrant; warrant was
sufficiently particular to cover seizure of defendant's hard drive; even
if the hard drive was outside the scope of the warrant, the officers acted
in good faith when they seized it.
