U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 21-3166
U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas - Central
[PUBLISHED] [Gruender, Author, with Shepherd and Erickson, Circuit Judges]
Criminal case - Criminal law and Sentencing. Defendant's pretrial behavior
was serious and obstruction, and the district court did not err in denying
his requests to represent himself; the evidence was sufficient to support
defendant's conviction for sex trafficking of a minor; the district court
did not abuse its discretion in admitting evidence of defendant's plan to
recruit women for prostitution under Rule 404(b). Two of the special
conditions of defendant's supervised release were unconstitutionally vague
and overbroad, and the matter is remanded for clarification of those
conditions.
