District of South Dakota
Civil case - Indian law. District court was correct in finding the
Yankton Sioux Reservation was not disestablished; however,
the court erred in concluding the 1858 exterior reservation
boundaries remain intact and that all nonceded lands remain part of
the reservation. Case remanded for further proceedings on the
precise limits of the reservation.
