U.S. Court of Appeals Case No: 99-2224
Western District of Arkansas
Civil Case Civil rights. Wilson was injured after he was
arrested for public intoxication and taken into custody.
Wilson sued arresting officer and police chief. District
court granted arresting officer qualified immunity and
granted summary judgment on the merits in favor of
officer and chief in their official capacities. After review
of videotape of the incident, court determined officer's
actions were not objectively unreasonable and thus he
is entitled to qualified immunity and judgment on the merits.
